ANAMBRA NSCDC COMMANDANT, OGU PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO INNOSON GROUP CHAIRMAN, CHUKWUMA, CHARGE PERSONNEL TO STEP UP SECURITY TEMPO

As part of the newly deployed Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Commandant, Commandant Vincent Ogu JP’s efforts to get acquainted with a first hand knowledge of his areas of responsibility and interface with relevant stakeholders at the grassroots and the State, the Commandant has pays courtesy visit to the Chairman/CEO, Innoson Group, Manufacturers of IVM Vehicles, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR.

In a press statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, DSC Okadigbo Edwin stated that, “In continuation of his familiarization tour to get acquainted with a first hand knowledge of his areas of responsibility and interface with relevant stakeholders at the grassroots, the State Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State Command Comdt. Vincent Ogu JP today 22/07/2021 visited NSCDC Area C, Nnewi where he addressed Officers and Men of the Area Command and the Seven Divisions under it.”

“The State Commandant accompanied by some very senior Officers of the command were welcomed by the Area C Commander Nnewi, ACC Anedo Christopher with all the Divisional Officers within the Area Command where he charged officers and men to step up their tempo in ensuring that NDI Anambra and residents alike are guaranteed maximum security. He encouraged officers and men to adhere to the rule of law in accordance with internationally acceptable best practices in discharging their duties.”

 

Meanwhile, the visit took the State Commandant and his entourage to a notable stakeholder in Nnewi, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR, Chairman/ CEO Innoson Group manufacturers of IVM Vehicles. The State Commandant intimated Chief Chukwuma of Dr. Ahmed Audi, mni, the Commandant General’s action plan stategically conceived to ensuring water tight security for NDI Anambra and residents alike and sought for his support in promoting safety and security in the State. He appreciated the inter agency collaboration existing in the State courtesy of the Executive Governor of Anambra State Chief Dr. Wille M Obiano who had continually supported all the security agencies in the State with the provision of Innoson operational Vehicles. Mr. Ogu reachoed the need for cooperation of relevant stakeholders and interaction with members of the community as one of the pillars in grassroot security which the Corps has always worked with.

Consequently, Chief Innocent Chukwuma who was delighted receiving the State Commandant appreciated the role NSCDC is playing in the country especially in the fight against insurgents in the North East and on the Protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure. He pledged his commitment to partner with the Corps in the State on demands within the areas of their request as it affects articulated vehicles peculiar to NSCDC needs.

The Commandant was thereafter taken round on a tour to Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing (IVM) plant. It would be recalled that the State Commandant has since assumption of office in June paid similar visit to heads of Sister Security Agencies in the State, and other State holders towards enhancing collaboration and peaceful coexistence of Ndi Anambra.
